Tamela S. Dreyer is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in San Diego, CA. She provides individual, family and couples psychotherapy utilizing cognitive behavioral, solution-focused and psychodynamic treatment approaches. She believes in treating the whole person and tailors treatment to meet each individual’s needs and treatment goals. In addition to Ms. Dreyer’s work in private practice, she teaches a dual disorders class at UCSD Extension in La Jolla, CA.
Her office is centrally located in Mission Valley, 10 minutes from downtown San Diego. She has daytime and evening appointment hours available.
Tamela S. Dreyer holds a Bachelors degree in Communications and a Masters degree in Social Work. She obtained her Bachelors degree from the University of Washington and her Masters degree from San Diego State University. She completed her graduate internships at St. Vincent de Paul Village and Jewish Family Service of San Diego. Ms. Dreyer also interned for three months at the Center.
Ms. Dreyer is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the California Society for Clinical Social Work. She has received specialized training in the area of addiction and co-occurring disorders. Ms. Dreyer managed a residential alcohol and drug treatment program for pregnant women and an intensive outpatient treatment program for women with substance abuse issues. In addition to her clinical work, she holds a CAS (Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Addictions Specialist) certification.
